However, after some further chromosome tests which took about 2 days, the doctors found out that this was M3 type of leukemia. This was the BEST prognosis we could hope for as the chances of the leukemia cells going into remission was higher than the M1 type. This also meant that the catheter could be taken out and chemotherapy drugs to be administered orally. But later, the doctors told us that the catheter had to remain for other drugs and blood to be transfused if needed.

Jodie went home to rest on Jauary 21. She had finished 2 rounds of chemotherapy in the meantime. After the first round, the doctors checked the bone marrow and found no trace of the leukemia cells. She was warded about 2 weeks after the 2nd round of chemotherapy on Feruary 26 due to a fever that went beyond 38 degree celcius. She was resting at home and resting from the third round of chemotherapy till May 2000.

That was the last round.
