10 Jan 2000 - As most blood donors are Malays and Indians, the blood bank in SGH is really short of blood due to the month of Ramadan, could the GIRLS and GUYS who can't give platelets OR who are not rostered by Cyndi (HP96818720) please go down to the blood bank as soon as you can to donate blood. There's another person on the same floor as Jodie who needs blood urgently. The criteria for the platelet donation is different from blood donation. It does not matter if your blood type matches Jodie's blood type. Btw, her blood type is O+. Please follow this link if you do not know how to get to SGH.

You can donate blood (not platelets) either at the collection centre at SGH ward 72 OR at the National Blood Centre, which is independent from SGH. The blood collected at the NBC will be processed and will go into the pool available to all people needing blood in Singapore, including Jodie. If enough people donate blood at NBC while mentioning Jodie's name, the staff there will also notice the trend. This advice was given to me by a doctor from SGH.

"This is what you must do, go down to the blood bank to donate blood and say these words to the clerk/officer - "I am a replacement donor for Koh Meng Sian". THEY WILL NOT WRITE THIS DOWN, IT'S OK. There's no guarantee that your blood will go to Jodie BUT if there's enough of our friends going down on different days and times, the officer(s) will remember her name. The explanation for doing this is too long to explain but trust me on this. DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES INSIST THAT THE BLOOD MUST GO JODIE KOH."
