15 May 2300hrs 2000 - Jo's blood test for leukemia cells is going to be out tomorrow. I think you guys already know that since the first chemo (Jan), there were ZERO leukemia cells to be found in her blood, so we would appreciate it very very much if you guys could keep Jo in prayer for the test results to be good. :- )
11 May 2359hrs 2000 - Jo is well and she's been going out quite a bit. She's been to the movies and having dinners with friends. I want all of you dear friends to know this, that she is *healed* of leukemia. Thank God for that. Her eyes are good!
However, there are a lot (I mean A LOT) of well meaning friends and relatives who are asking her family members to supplement her diet with special teas, food, vitamins, chinese sinsehs, etc. Frankly, it's stressing her out and it's really frustrating for her since everyone has good intentions one way or another but making her drink/do something new every week is trying. Please ask God to give the family wisdom.
Her dad is bringing a medium home this coming Saturday coz he thinks the house is unclean. Please ask God that her father will come to his senses.
6 May 0715hrs 2000 - Jo's eye is has been healed! :-) She's been cooking up a storm at home and testing out her creations on her brother, sis and me. Pretty good stuff actually. She threw up yesterday due to some gastric problem. :-(
The doctors are doing a blood test somewhere in the middle of this month to confirm the remission of the leukemia cells, please pray for an all clear.
1 May 1530hrs 2000 - thank you for your prayers! jo is much better today, her throat isn't in so much pain anymore. she might be able to make it to church this sunday. :-)
the docs have told her that they might want to start her on oral chemotherapy soon... will update on that later. btw, she's stil at HOME.
29 Apr 0930hrs 2000 - I just got back from HK. Thanks your prayers and thoughts. The place was extremely safe actually, but it was cloudy and dark most of the time, it rained pretty heavily on the last day so we couldn't do much.
The docs have told Jodie that she doesn't need to go through the bone marrow test! Praise the Lord!!
But Jodie is not well, she's been very ill since Thurs, and she can't talk much. I am sorry I couldn't email you guys sooner but I did have Internet access for the last few days. Please pray for her brother, Teck Hua (he's not well) and Jo that they will heal and recover starting from today.
24 Apr 0830hrs 2000 - Jodie is still at home and she will be undergoing a bone marrow test soon, this is where the docs drill and extract a small piece of the bone marrow to do some testing. It's very painful, please pray for her 'kay?
She's already in full remission already since the first chemotherapy, but the docs wanted her to finish 3 chemos to lower the chances of a relapse. As of right now, she's watching a lot of VCDs (originals) and cooking. Please pray that she'll be able to resume normal life and go out in the next couple of months. She's hoping to go church this Sunday. :-)
I'll be going overseas tomorrow and will be coming back on Friday, would appreciate if you guys could keep me in your prayers for the next couple of days. Please pray for safety and bright blue skies.
20 Mar 1230hrs 2000 - Jodie's having a fever of 37.6C, please pray for the fever to go.
24 Feb 1130hrs 2000 - Please pray that her blood count will go up in today. Also, kindly ask God to send money to her family as her family's financial situation as the medicine and treatments are really expensive and it's becoming a strain.
24 Jan 1000hrs 2000 - Please pray for her bone marrow, that God will heal and make it perform perfectly, above and beyond the doctors' expectations. About the panic attack(s), please ask God to send angels to guard her and her room. Also, please pray for Holy Spirit to give her family godly wisdom in dealing with her illness and her recovery.
19 Jan 0900hrs 2000 - She still has slightly blurred vision in both of her eyes. Please pray for complete healing. Please pray also that the nausea will leave her today.
15 Jan 1300hrs 2000 - Thank God for upping her white blood count! [WooHoo x 3!]
12 Jan 2140hrs 2000 - Jo is a bit frustrated and depressed with her flu and the routine of needles, antibiotics, more needles and more antibiotics. But she also knows that how blessed she is to have the M3 type and not suffer from super serious side effects (like throwing up everything that goes down) of heavy chemo that M1 patients go through. Please pray for her father and mom, they are here everyday.
10 Jan 1630hrs 2000 - Please pray that the fever will go down and that there will a healing in her retina.
10 Jan 0050hrs 2000 - Jo's having a bad fever, 38.1C and the doctor did a blood test. Please pray for a positive result and that her fever and gum swelling will do down.
8 Jan 2000 - Specific prayer pointers:
a. for Jo's bone marrow to produce an abundance of "good" and functional white blood cells, especially neutrophils and lymphocytes;
b. for her haemoglobin and platelet counts to increase;
c. against infection;
d. for Jo's organ systems (liver and kidneys especially) to be strong and healthy to function normally as both the leukaemia and the treatment may affect them (latest blood test results show that both liver and kidney function are normal)
e. for continued response to chemotherapy - blast cells to be eradicated from both the peripheral blood as well as the bone marrow.
5 Jan 2000 - Jodie has had a very bad headache since this morning, and even the doctors have put her on a strong painkiller, it doesn't seem to work. Please pray that whatever that's causing the pain will be removed.
4 Jan 2000 - More specific prayer points,
please pray that:
a. That her room-mates and their visitors do not have transmissible infectious
diseases;
b. That her new MO and HO will familiarise themselves with their patients and
their ward so that care for the patients (including Jodie) will not be compromised;
c. That Jo and her family would find favour with the medical and nursing staff,
such that they would continue to be friendly and communicative.
3 Jan 2000 - Please pray that the leukaemic cells will respond to the chemotherapy and STOP reproducing, and that the other cell lines will NOT BE AFFECTED by chemotherapy. Pray that Jodie's bone marrow continue producing NORMAL white blood cells, red blood cells and platelets. Pray against the possible complications of M3 leukemia, especially a condition called Disseminated Intravascular Coagulation, where the blood clotting system fails completely.
3 Jan 2000 - She had nightmares a couple of nights ago (could be due chemo), but she's sensed that there's spiritual wickedness that's involved, so please pray for God's peace to guard her heart and mind. For those of you who want to intercede and wage spiritual warfare, please do so.
3 Jan 2000 - Jodie's brother, Teck Hua and sister, Kathrynn are taking care of her at night. Please pray that they will get enough rest so that they don't fall sick.
3 Jan 2000 - Kar Wai is down with flu, this
means that I can't go down to keep her company at night. Please pray for complete
recovery as soon as possible.
